Julie Smith, professor of economics, was quoted in a July 24 article by Agence France-Presse (AFP), a global news agency, about the Federal Reserve’s expected move this week to again raise its benchmark interest rate to control inflation.

Quoted along with prominent economists from around the country, Smith noted in the article that recent data “indicate that previous rate increases have very likely started to work.”
